Spiderman: Across the Spider-verse

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Spiderman into the spider verse was one of my favorite movies of all time, but Spiderman across the spider verse was something else. I’m going to be honest here, I'm not the biggest spiderman fan to exist in this world but I've been really attached to the Spiderman into the Spider verse movie. I loved the main character, Miles Moralas. The movie writer did a great job of creating Miles, Miles is a very funny person and I think he made people enjoy the movie more, Miles is very relatable in situations that don’t happen in real life, like getting bitten by a spider and suddenly having powers.

Now as in the Spiderman across the spider verse movie, it is much different and more intense in a fun and interesting way. The movie starts off with Gwen and how her life is going in her dimension. Gwen starts to realize how lonely she really is with her friends not being there due to them being in another world. Before I get to the part where she gets her magical watch and meets a whole spider organization, I want to take a moment to realize how good the writers make Mile’s and Gwen’s relationship. In the beginning of the movie, they see each other and catch up on things since it’s been a while.

As the movie goes on Miles starts to realize what Gwen was really doing in his dimension and that she wasn’t really there just to say hi to Miles. This relationship really changed compared to how it ends up in the end of the movie. During the part where Gwen and Miles were in India, they meet another spiderman names Pavitr Prabhakar and Spider-Punk, but I got to say, Pavitr is one of my favorite Spiderman's I'm seen. Pavitr is really funny and a loving person especially to his girlfriend. He takes care of his city very well and he has the best hair to exist in my opinion.

When Gwen takes Miles to the headquarters of Spider-people things start to get intense, Miles realizes that every single Spiderman is supposed to have a canon event that makes the universe connect with other Spider people. It makes more sense for every single Spiderman story that happens, when Gwen lost her best friend, or when Peter. B Parker lost his Uncle Ben, and many more. Miles finds out that his canon event is that his father is apparently supposed to die. Miles ends up running away from the headquarters filled with all the Spider-people. I think this part in the movie really gave the audience an idea of how hard it is being Spiderman; you’re always going to have to make sacrifices in life and you’re not going to save everybody.

I think Miguel (the Spiderman who started the whole organization) was being a little bit harsh on Miles. Although Miles didn’t really have a choice in saving his dad or saving the whole universe and keeping the spider verse intact, he ended up escaping the headquarters and returning to his dimension (it wasn’t really his dimension). If I was in Mile’s shoes, I wouldn’t know what to do, it’s either you save one person or you save everybody. Another thing is when Spider-Punk, Gwen, and Miles were going to meet Miguel, Spider-punk was not only talking to Miles, but he was also getting\stealing supplies to make another magical watch. This became very helpful later in the movie when Gwen got kicked out from the Spider organization. Spider-punk sent the watch to Gwen so that she could teleport back to Mile’s dimension to save him.

The fact that Miles found out that he was in the wrong dimension when he saw his father’s face on the building was heart breaking, also when he saw his Uncle Aron still alive. What really got me was when Uncle Aron had Miles tied to his punching bag, he saw the prowler was also there, but when he took off his mask it was a different version of Miles. This was a jaw dropping scene for me, Miles looked so different but also looked like Spiderman Miles Moralas. The Prowler Miles had braids in his hair and had a more terrifying look. It just shocks me that there could be this whole other Miles Moralas in a different dimension, and there's probably more. This makes me think that maybe Uncle Aron was the one that made Miles Moralas the prowler, and that maybe it’s a good thing that Uncle Aron died in Spiderman Miles Moralas’s dimension. I think Miles’s dad was the one that made him Spiderman based on what we saw with Uncle Aron and the Prowler. If Miles’s Uncle didn’t die, I think Miles wouldn't be who he is right now.

Off course the ending is shocking too. Usually, I hate cliff hangers but in this movie it actually was good. It made me really excited to watch the next one once it comes out and I’m sure other people feel the same way. With this ending and with the prowler being Miles, I think the next movie will have some more interesting twists and turns.
